Re: Living in Bangkok!

Just a quick update on whats opened or not.

Soapys- are secretly open, just walk around at night and you will notice customers going in around Sukhumvit 33 and 26. Just go up and enter.

Agogos - are mainly open but sit outside. Police will come and enforce closure by 11pm. Still can barfine.

FLs - many around Nana late at night still, so just go up and talk to them and negotiate price.

Clubs - Some are open but stop selling alcohol around 11pm. Police normally come around the Sukhumvit area to enforce people to leave and close the place. Some other clubs closed at 12.30am. Even closing so early, there is crowd.

KTV - Secretly open

G Clubs - Many are open and closing around midnight. Some offer after hours in a form of private room.

Re: Living in Bangkok!

My 2 cents. For those intending to go Thailand, please ensure the following is met. MUST be met. Always anticipate the worst and not the best. Cost is one thing but spending your leave in quarantine and paying out of your own pocket is another.

1 - Purchase a travel insurance that provide a Letter of Guarantee in case of Covid. Ideally to buy from Thai insurance company but make sure it provides Letter of Guarantee. Not those pay first and claim later.

2 - Make sure that the hotel you had booked enable you to choose the hospital and not leave you no choice other than to the hospital that they tied up with. Some policy may only provide insurance Letter of Guarantee for their panel of hospitals. This is very important else it defeats the purpose of buying insurance.

I will only go if the hotel and hospital tied up is no longer in place. It should be tested upon arrival like most country at the airport or designated testing centre. You should have proof of prepayment for PCR test (be it 1 or 2) only and not hotel and transport. With so many tests (3 for Thailand) and like Malaysia 2 PCR and daily ART test with 2 of them supervised, I prefer to play safe and stay where I am.

just use agoda to find. filter
now hotels very cheap if you dont stay 5 star. $40-$50 a night have good hotels already, or even 1 bedroom apartments.

Re: Living in Bangkok!

Anybody experience difficultly bringing girl back to SHA extra plus hotels?

I heard from the hotel staff that SHA extra plus will check when u bring guests back, so is more troublesome.

I would book a non-SHA extra plus hotel, but it seems that all the 4-5 star hotels are SHA extra plus.
