Thanks, I am using Android gallery to crop the picture to reduce the size as understand paint brush can reduce to much smaller size.

Went to Batam recently after 6 years. Took the 9.40am ferry to Harbourbay Batam. Once reach, went to lv 2 Horizon counter and collect my pocket wifi. I had a problem connecting so took a taxi for 30k to City Central Hotel. Paid 40k total inc tips.

Reach hotel paid deposit 100k and got a room. The room was spacious and clean but no deposit box. I chose this hotel as it is hidden, dont like crowded place. I was hungry and ordered nasi padang with GoFood. Price is 40k total which is cheap as they give generous servings, enough for 2 people.

12.30pm decide to walk to booking joints. My wifi is up and running so easy to navigate. I followed Bro Nono's map and reach JV Happy 8. There was 10 girls but not to my liking. Walk from there to Kupu Kupu Joint. Papi gathered all the girls, around 10 girls also. Took 1 that smiled at me, nego from 1.5 Juta to 1.2 Juta. Asked Papi to send her my room at 3pm. Buy condoms and rokok and went back to hotel.

3pm and she came right on time. She was petite and looked like a schoolgirl. She actually just turned 19 recently so that explains it. I have a weakness for girls with petite bodies so lucky me. We clicked instantly as i know Bahasa. After hugging in bed and watching Youtube, had 1st shot.

She wanted to watch horrow movie, so i decide to go BCS mall to watch. Bought 2 tickets for 70k. Drinks and food was expensive. 1 large popcorn, 1 medium fries and 2 Milo Dinosaur costs 230k. 3x the price of movie tickets. Milo Dinosaur in Batam is different, they have pearls in it. They dont put Milo Powder at the top but whip cream. The seats and sounds are great quality also. She was hugging and pulling me the whole time during jumpscares so i enjoyed it.

Book a grab to hotel for 13k. Ordered Satay with GrabFood for 45k. We had 20 sticks and lontong so quite cheap. Had 2nd shot before sleep.

The next morning i had 1 last shot with her before she goes back. Gave her some tips, procede to breakfast downstairs. Compare to Lovina Inn Hotel next door, the breakfast was good. Got fruits, bread, porridge, rice and coffee. Went for a 2 hours clean massage for 200k near Nagoya Hill. After that eat at A&W, in Batam there is no Q at all. Took a Grab for 13k to Harbourbay and took ferry back home.

It was a memorable trip after 6 long years. Batam has improve a lot, now with Grab and Gojek around. No need to hassle with taxis for fares and can order food anywhere anytime. Be careful when booking Grab around places with taxi drivers, drivers tend to avoid to pick you up. A big shoutout to Bro Nono's useful information, refreshed my memory instantly.

Actually if you happen to see those 2/1 or 3/1 pre-packed Luwak coffees in Batam, they arent exactly real luwak coffees,hehehe...the powdered coffee were mix with few other different types of coffee powder. There is only a very small portion of version 3 luwak coffees in it. Then again, they arent totally fake either...hehehe...

Altogether, they were not exactly original luwak coffee tho,hehehe...but well, the taste however were close enough for myself.

Cost only about S$1 per pack of 10 sachets, hence i really cannot expect too much...hehehe...

This is good to know,hehehe...but i am a lazy person hence i picked the Japanese way to make coffee using a disposable drip bag.

Daiso is selling 12 of these drip bags w/o the coffee in it (shown on above video) at about S$2. I use it to make my own filtered coffee in a cup instantly while i travel to Batam (or anywhere else).

I must say the Japanese were indeed innovative.

Sure i will. Batam air-con-ed food places has lesser and lesser smoking area. Over time, perhaps in the next 10 years down the road, they will likely become history. Need to support them more if i am a smoker,hehehe...

Huh? Those photos i posted were from around 5 or more years ago...they (the hotel) have changed in many ways and the latest room were of the last time you visited Formosa in your 2019 trip.

The only things that I am sure were not there, on my last visits, are the multiple cables for charging phones and that horrible controller for aircondition and lights. They never worked well, however.

Those things were no longer there in Formosa Hotel.

Quite stupid tho, they no longer has that TV channel list. The air-con and lights controller device EOL-ed, mobile phone charging cables replaced by USB port on the wall etc. All 2nd floor toilet's bath tub were taken out (my personal safe box were gone,hehehe...), and replaced by standing shower area. Showering area's floor were replaced by sandy concrete so it becomes less slippery.

They took out most of the room's carpet too, so now you can only see some carpeted rooms on the 3rd floor.

...and they changed some of their chair's design too. Old ones look something like this below :

They never wash their curtain for ages tho (no hotels i know do that yet), well...i did it for them instead. So if you are staying in your usual room you stayed in the last time, the curtain should actually be cleaner than most of their other rooms,hehehe...but not so sure today.

Actually, even with Grab / GoJek, Batam a lot of places still very hard to get Grab. Firstly, no long-term SIM card like in JB (so I suppose you rented WiFi from SG?), and as you said, taxi drivers are mafia af, will gang up and chase you down. Once I take from Batam Centre, I walk almost 1 km away to get my grab. KNN, the taxi drivers follow me. Sibei chor.

Seriously, don't know when they will do something about these kind of Mafia-ish behaviour. Even in Bali also sama-sama.

I rented the pocket wifi from Horizon Ferry online. Collect it at Harbourbay Counter lv 2. Price $7 / day. I need the wifi for Whatsapp and Grab / Gojek purposes.

The only problem i had with Grab / Gojek is Nagoya Hill Mall which i had to walk outside to Indomaret for pickup and Harbourbay Terminal. Grab / Gojek drivers will sms you in advance they dont want to meet the taxi drivers. Other places works fine for me.
