This is quite similar to charging opponents of jihad violence and Sharia oppression of women and others with “Islamophobia,” which implies that opposition to such evils are afflicted with a pathology, a psychological disorder. The logic of that leads to pseudo-therapeutic torture in reeducation camps, but we aren’t quite there yet. In any case, these statements from Erdogan are yet another example of how any opposition to jihad violence, no matter how mild, is excoriated and stigmatized by...
