According to a report by The New Paper, the fight broke out near the lift landing of Block 68, Toa Payoh Lorong 6 on Monday (Sep 29). Moments before the fight, officers were dealing with a man who tried to barge through the police cordon, insisting on seeing the body. The man, a sibling of the deceased, began shouting when police tried to speak to him. He said: "Why can't I see her? She's my sister!" As they were dealing with him, the group began stomping on and kicking the unidentified man, clad in a red T-shirt. The man in the red T-shirt is believed to be a family member of the dead woman. Police officers were eventually able to break up the fight after 10 minutes. The reason as to why the fight broke out still remains unknown. At the time of the brawl, one man was seen being handcuffed by the police and taken away. It is not known if anyone else was injured in the tussle.
