PHUKET: Four new Covid-19 cases have been reported in Phuket, one definitely linked to a pub in Thong Lor area of Bangkok.

Phuket health chief Koosak Kookiatkul said on Wednesday one of the cases was a 29-year-old woman who worked as a receptionist at an entertainment venue in Thong Lor.

A customer there was confirmed infected with Covid-19 on April 1. On April 2, the woman hired a van and went to Don Mueang airport, where she took a 1.15pm flight to Phuket.

She had a headache during the flight. After landing at Phuket airport at 2.40pm, she caught a taxi at 3.30pm to a hotel in tambon Rawai of Muang district. She had a meal with her boyfriend and his relatives.

About 7pm, she learned that two colleagues who worked in Thong Lor had Covid-19. She had a fever by 8pm and moved to another hotel in tambon Rawai.

On the morning of April 3 she had a fever and runny nose and a cough. She tested positive for Covid-19 at a private hospital.

Just got back from phuket Tuesday night, spent 3 day 2 night.

Pretty empty compared to my last visit in 2014. Karon beach side about 80-90% businesses closed down. drove around 6pm ish, only 2-3 cars and couple of bikes...

Rawai side more shops/restaurants.

Recommended shop , One Chun restaurant (no need reservation) , Surf & Turf (require reservation) , Torry Ice Cream (no need reservation but queue at least 10-20 ahead).

samet nangshe viewpoint good place to see view, sat in Bay View Cafe (show them your transport ticket n get 60baht off from your bill). Btw theres 2 viewpoint there, dont go to the wrong one which I did.. wasted 90baht per person for transport up, nothing but good view and slightly higher

They jab and jab pp in phuket but before the jab come fully effective the person maybe will kana liao cuz they don't lock down the island. From bangkok thonglor spread to phuket.

PHUKET: Two more Covid-19 cases have been confirmed in Phuket, both patients infected at a local bar, leading to the immediate temporary closure of three pubs, and all others from Friday.

Deputy governor Vikrom Jakthee said Café Del Mar Phuket, Illuzion pub and Shelter pub would be closed immediately, from April 8 to April 21. The governor, chairman of the panel, had already signed the closure order.

This could jeopardize the 01Jul opening plans for Phuket. I doubt they'll do any contact tracing of those people the 2 infected victims came into contact with! The spread could be hard to contain now...
