My Lord, Pls forgive this old man's limited memory bank. I have escorted/accompanied many members who happen to be in AC same time as me. I must say that every group was a wonderful bunch when i see the happiness of being in "Shangri La".
I have an open ticket that i plan to use first week of Oct. We try to meet up then.

Commonly available is a blue satchet of lubricant called EZ Lubricating Jelly by Trust distributed by DKT Philippines,INC. About $1/pack. Can last a whole trip. I don remember seeing Astroglide here.

Re: Angeles City (Balibago) Tips

My recent trip to AC had convinced me that DMIA is into deeper fucking shit in terms of customer service:

ARRIVAL HALL:
* Dark and ill-lighted section before the immigration counters, where all pax had to scramble for those ARRIVAL FORMS and writing desks and even pens to get them completed. Why can't they let AirAsia (or other airlines) distribute them on board? AirAsia announced in flight that those forms WERE NOT available on board! I thought AirAsia was reluctant to stock them up due to payload penalties (silly idea), but NO...all arriving airlines DID NOT provide the forms to their pax. I had practically 4 hours of idling time on board and only to rush to fill up the forms at the immigration..SHIT.

DEPARTURE HALL:
More ridiculous than ARRIVAL HALL!
* Having the scanner at the Departure Terminal's door steps! Imagine, ONLY all disembarking pax (holding valid tickets..so don't forget to print your AirAsia e-tickets) are allowed to go thru, while sending off families are to wait outside, under a make shift canopy! The feeling is like the pax getting into a concentration camp and detaching from their local families and friends (before Check-in!) What if during a typhoon! all pax will be wet through while waiting for the front pax to get their luggage scanned. VERY STUPID IDEA
* The sacnner will review everything (even those checked-in luggage contents) so those bastards could pick and demand those items to be confiscated, even bottles of sampoos which are allowed to be checked-in but not allowed as hand luggage, but at this point all luggages treated as hand luggage woh...WTF ..MORE AVENUES TO CONSFICATE ITEMS THAT THEY NEED
* After checking in, have to line up to pay up Exit Tax [Filipino] or Airport Tax
but had to fill up the same form ARIVAL FORM (it had irrelevant items as "what palce WILL you be staying in the Phillipines?"...WTH, I had stayed and leaving now, why ask again on departure?? They should learn to design ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE CARDS like what Thailand had done.
* Then come the fucking second screening! At this point, they will frisk all males (especially their pockets) and whispered into their ears "You still have pesos??" My pocket was emptied earlier, so when he frisked me, he detected some "notes" in my pocket, and I quickly took them out and he quickly let me thru...as those notes were CHOW KING tissue papers kekekeke...My friend's umbrella was taken away, claimed to be potentially dangerous weapon. Hopefully one day, those police will not resort to detain us at AC due to we are carrying potentially dangerous "raping tools"

I think DMIA is dammed lousy to be considered an International Airport. Only Medan airport could beat them in terms of lousiness!

Re: Angeles City (Balibago) Tips

Ah Hia: That reminds me of the prank somebody played in the London Heathrow airport ..

Anyway, ProfessorOokami: Don't say nasty things about DMIA: The filipinos are doing a master plan to make it the replacement for NAIA, and even SIA has hedged some funds in that.

Honestly, apart from the 3,200 meter runway, which is perfectly of the best quality, having been laid by the US AF, and a fairly obstacle free approach.. there is not much DMIA has to offer ..

NAIA has two runways, and in case of obstruction, there is the secondary shorter runway .. now at DMIA, the diversion runway is Subic .. another airport, another set of issues, and again a single runway .. maybe a bit hyped up, but I still see the logic behind shifting to DMIA, unless a lot of infrastructure is built it .. and by then Marcos will be president, and then he will make sure his cronies who own businesses around NAIA will cement NAIA's position ..
